We’re selling our house and the building inspection carried out by the buyer’s builder this week revealed unacceptable moisture readings on ‘one or two walls’ in our bathroom- YIKES! We don’t have a copy of the report but the agent described the general area (on the wall above the bath taps and a bit on the vanity wall) Hubby made an inspection of the adjacent roof space (on a rainy day today) which revealed dripping from a breather pipe and on subsequent roof inspection he thinks he’s found the issue - a hairline crack at the base of said breather pipe which he’s temporarily sealed with plumbers’ silicone. We need I guess to have our builder find the high moisture levels, open up problematic the wall/s and asses / repair the damage. Our insurer needs an inspection, images & a repair quote by a qualified builder & we’re very keen to get this sorted pronto so we can proceed with our house sale …. The bathroom is not in use (we use the ensuite) …. Please help!
