Where to start Advice needed!

I have inherited an old house that needs a fair bit of work. Not sure where to start?! After advice, suggestions, must dos, could dos etc. I have considered getting a builders report, but that will only tell me the multitude of things wrong, not order of priority. Have been given plenty of ‘do this, do that’ by well intentioned people but none of them are actually tradies, and they have only remodelled not renovated. I dont want to start throwing money at little jobs to find that the big jobs need to be done first. I also don’t live in the area but am around for the next couple of days.
