We are planning a kitchen remodel and before we start we want to open up the space a bit more in our old 50s 3 bedroom home. One wall is a part wall in kitchen (less than 1 m wide) , the other a corner wall in living/hallway (1m + 60cm). Main issue is ascertaining the best way to do it in terms of structural integrity of house (word on the street is falling down houses are sub-optimal) so hoping for someone with proven building experience and knowledge of maintaining internal wall strength and work-arounds for load-bearing areas. There may very well be ongoing smaller jobs for keen builders as we move forward with the kitchen. Thanks!
