Tidy up and render old combination brick-concrete garden wall

We have this wall totaling about 8m of length, 0.8m high, with two rows of brick along, needs a good tidy up. To me that means re-sticking 2-3 weak bricks and rendering over the wall and bricks including the top edge. Rendering the bricks around the steps as pictured too. I can pull out the big lavender and clear space in the garden bed below the wall, and dig out an edge in the lawn above to give you the space to work. I might be able to complete other basic prep too. Or am I misjudging what needs to be done here - perhaps you have other recommendations to make this tidy and last a while. Ideally have this work done soon to let us do some spring planting afterwards.
