Minor Dwelling

We would like to add a minor dwelling to the back of our property. We have received confirmation from the Council that this is possible given the land size, which is approximately 611m2. This is our first time of undertaking a project like this and have assumed by what we have read, that we would need to get an Architect in to design where the minor dwelling is to go and to also confirm the type of minor dwelling we could have there, to ensure that we meet council requirements. Thereafter, I would assume we would need a tradesperson to implement as per the Architect?
