Draughtsman/Consent Process

We are recladding our home currently old stucco home. (eq repairs but eqc have cash settled). I have a company lined up for the removal of the cladding and a company to re-clad with a rockcote system, I have had initial discussions with a builder, although he would prefer to be involved once plans etc are drawn up?? However we need to apply for a building consent, the council has told me we need a consent and we need to hire a draughtsman to complete the plans etc needed for this. Our home is 122sqm and I will add photos of the home for your reference.
