Rangehood & Cooktop Oven

My rangehood fan doesn't seem to work. The light turns on and flickers for 1 to 2 seconds accompanied by buzzing electrical noise before dying out again. Only two of the elements on the cooktop work and they are always on the highest heat no matter where the dial is. The oven seems to work but I have no idea whether the heat is controllable or not. Are they worth the repair cost or should I get new ones? Hope some of you could kindly advise. Cheers!
