Tradies are reviewed with Hammer Ratings on a scale from 1 to 5, with 5 being the best. These are based on two areas :
- Communication – How tradies communicate
- Workmanship – The work carried out by tradies
It’s important to remember that only tradespeople who win work through Builderscrack can be reviewed.
Only jobs that have been grabbed, or have been awarded by homeowners can have a workmanship review submitted by a homeowner.

We have had tradies that have offered incentives to Homeowners. An example is a tradie who offered to do a job for free. The homeowner supplied the materials, and the tradie completed the job, with no cost to the homeowner. As a result, the homeowner gave a glowing 5-star review.

How hammer reviews affect your TradeRank.
TradeRank is a measure of your effectiveness in securing work and giving homeowners a good experience. It is based on a number of signals, such as responsiveness, professionalism and paying invoices on time.
It is important to note that we don’t send all leads to everyone. However the higher your TradeRank, the more job leads (and priority leads) you will receive.
Consequently, your reviews also affect your TradeTank and play an important role in driving leads.
