About
Hi, I'm Stu, Owner-Operator of Fat Tabby Carpentry.
I am a one-man-band carpenter, out to make a difference.
I have been in the trades for over 15 years now. I started out as a fitter/welder where every millimeter matters. Then I moved on to some bespoke design and build work that involved a lot of cabinetry and museum/exhibition space fit-out, working with all sorts of materials from specialty hardwoods to composites to acrylic and everything in between. Then I moved on to carpentry where I've done renovations, high end new build, fences, decks, retaining walls, you name it.
I'm currently a Qualified Carpenter and Licensed Building Practitioner trying to make my mark wherever possible.
I also have experience in Computer Animated Design so clients can see their job come to life on screen prior to making any final decisions. Plus it helps me to know the job inside-out which enables me to both price a job accurately and be more efficient on site.
I have set out to break the mould by being totally transparent with clients and maintaining clear and open communication throughout. I work hard to maintain a high standard of work within a reasonable timeline and pricepoint. If you're looking for "quick and dirty", sorry, that's not me. I believe that if a job is worth doing, it's worth doing right.
