About

"I have over 30 years of experience in the building industry and have
worked as a project manager, site foreman, kitchen designer and
installer, commercial furniture manufacturer and installer, and hands-on
Carpenter. I have run my own company, Genesis Building, for the last seven years.

My skills and experience range across all building areas, including
renovations and additions, kitchen cabinetry, bathroom remodels, and new
residential homes. I have also completed a few bespoke Pinterest-type projects.
I love to be involved in projects that require a bit of creativity, and I would be more than happy to talk with you about the building project you are looking to undertake.

Large renovation

Last year, we had the pleasure of completing an extensive renovation/extension for a long-time friend and client. Genesis Building was involved right from the first concept stage decisions with the homeowner to the architect's engagement all the way through to the completion of the Code of Compliance with the local council. This project involved a complete re-roof with new insulation, new cladding, and plaster to the exterior. An extension of 30m2 with a 40m2 covered patio. A new modern kitchen. We were very pleased with the bathroom renovations, roofing and deck repairs that Genesis Building completed for us. Work was completed on time and to a good standard. Shawn communicated well with us throughout the project, taking the time to understand what we wanted at the start and keeping us updated on progress as things went on. We felt he was open and fair with the costs and we would use Genesis again.
