we have a balcolny area that has a layer of fibre glass mixture over hardboard and its very hollow sounding when you step on it. we need to re-do it because its has some cracks and slightly different levels and water pools on it but we have been told its not suitable to tile over. there is a bedroom below it downstairs so we need something waterproof that we can either tile or put decking board over top.
