The downpipe carrying all water from the eastern side of the main roof empties onto the ground directly beside the house and is causing dampness/moisture inside behind the downstairs kitchen cabinets. The cabinets against the wall are damp and this appears to be due to ground water coming through the blockwork as this area is approx 1m below ground level. Moisture and efflorescence are evident on the blockwork for the full length of wall but are worst directly inside from where the eastern roof downpipe discharges into the earth. The dampness in the downstairs kitchen requires some external excavation of garden and concrete path to repair the waterproof membrane protecting the blockwork. The stormwater from roof requires attention to transfer rain water away from the building more effectively.
