Waterproofing a basement

Living in Goodwood Heights, Manukau. Our home has a rudimentary basement with a rough concrete floor and partial pured concrete walls (to knee height) above that only the fibre cement weatherboarding. Some polythene has been used, but there is not a continuous waterproof membrane. Overall area is perhaps 36m2. I don't expect this to become a liveable space, but I do want it to be dry enough to use as workshop and for storage. Access to the basement is through the garage. I would imagine removal of some or all of the existing concrete. Some minor earthworks and then new properly waterproofed slab and walls. No Gib, electrics or plumbing required. Immediate start.
