I have a 5m x 5m storage space underneath an old 1920s bungalow that is accessible from the slab on grade garage to the side. When entering the storage space, you step down from the garage around a meter. The storage space has a concrete basin (concrete floor curving upwards at the perimeter to form the 1m high concrete walls to retain ground). In heavy rain, the entire space floods, easily 30cm. Owners before us threw scoria down. My suspicion is the concrete is really old, not reinforced or compacted, and during rain the water table rises and water seeps through. I need someone to come around for a free quote, and advise on whether my assumption is actually the case, or if there is something else at work. I have thought of a few options, but I would value options for fixing this issue. Cheers, Brian.
