Around 2018, we had the chimney removed and capped. This was all fine until about 2020 when the first big earthquake hit. Since then there has been a lot of moisture in the wall. We have had the chimney recapped, installed foam in the gaps between the roof and the flashings but we are still getting moisture in the walls when it rains. Readings with a moisture meter shows anything from 25% to 40% moisture. We are in the process of lodging an insurance claim. Require a builder to assess and repair.
