Fix sealing around the bottom of the shower and assess/fix damages

We've recently noticed that the base of the wall connected to our shower is looking a little bit sorry and suspect it's due to a poor sealing job. We don't know whether we need to replace some of the gib due to water damage or not but would like someone to give us some advice on that / fix for us if required.
