Leak in ceiling

There is leaking coming from the ceiling of the living room after heavy rain. I am guessing it's likely a roofing issue as the location of the leak is directly under the roof and near a gutter downpipe. It seems there is a pool of water sitting on the gib. I have cut a small hole in the gib board (see photo attached) to allow the water to drain out. I need someone to come by and assess the leak by end of this week and provide a fix for it.
