Ducting (Rangehood)

We are having our kitchen renovated and we need to know if we can change the existing ducting for the ranghood which is going through the ceiling , to going out the external wall. We also want to know if the same person who can change the ducting can block off the existing ducting in the ceiling/roof. Kitchen is being installed late Jan but need to know about ducting this week (by 6 Dec) if possible. Will be home until 1pm Wed 4 if suits.
