Extractor duct smell

The exterior outlet is not closing properly and I think something has got in from outside and died in the duct??? The fan and duct are working properly but there's a bad smell. It's the left hand one in the photo

This company was highly professional and the standard of work and care taken excellent. There was more to do than expected but as a result we have a better than original set of functional outdoor lights and compliant extractor fan outlets. Thanks so much!!
