Job description

Extractor Ventilation
New Plymouth

We want to put a heat transfer from our upstairs lounge to the bedrooms downstairs. We have talked to HRV but as we have an 80s macrayway style house with no roof space they aren't able to do it. We have an idea of putting the outlet in the upstairs lounge (where we get the most heat from our downstairs fire - upstairs is open plan mezzanine style), and putting the ducting through the upstairs bedroom cupboard- which is also where the water heater is stored), running it along the wall of the upstairs bedroom and then down into the bedrooms below. It would also mean putting a storage type cupboard in to cover the ducting and also because we need extra storage space. So we would firstly need advice on how achievable this plan is, whether it would actually work and whether it would be effective in heating those rooms, and building storage to cover the ducting. We are looking for advice first and quotes on work if it can be done. We have no urgent timeframe and as yet haven't researched heat transfer systems- would need to know if it can be done first. But if it can it would be great to get one in during winter.
