Replace kitchen rangehood duct

Hi there, I need to replace a ventilation duct from my rangehood above kitchen stove that has been damaged by rats. This duct runs about 2m from rangehood into the ceiling and to outside of the house under the eaves. Ideally, I would like to replace this duct with one made from stiffer material (such as metal) to prevent similar damages in the future. Thank you.
