Bathroom extractor fan to be ducted outside via soffit

The bathroom extractor fan currently deposits into the roof-space. I am thinking the best solution is to install some ducting (probably only 1m or so) to a vent in the soffit. A few things to note are that the entry to the roof space is relatively small, and the angle of the roof is quite acute, so the working space is quite tight (see pictures). The exterior cladding is asbestos, so I think maybe the soffit will be too and its also a two storey house so would require a big ladder.
