I am wanting to replace a section of worn carpet with tiles in my hallway. I need the carpet lifted and the edge tidied where the tiles will go. I will be wanting to use 600 x 600 tiles. One section on tiles will go into a concrete floor. This area is approximately 1260mm x 1570mm. There is one edge that will have a piece cut out of it as about half way along it does cut in about 50mm. The second section of tiling is at the bottom of the stairs. This will be onto a wooden floor and includes one step. The step has a beveled edge so that will need to have a strip of timber across the face of the step to give a flat surface. This area measures approx 930mm x 820mm. The step is 150mm x 820mm. I am slightly undecided if I will have this second area tiled or to just leave as carpet. I need advice on how many tiles to purchase which I will get myself once I know. I don't have any materials for this job.
