Kitchen bench heat damage

Our tenanted (not current tenant who is great!) delaminated the new kitchen bench by placing hot roasting pan direct from oven to synthetic bench. Caused lifting of the glue which has blistered and now the integrity of the bench is compromised. Will require some medium sized tiles to cover majority of bench close to oven. We want the tiles embedded/ routed into the bench, not just stuck on! Then must be sealed/ grouted to ensure bench is waterproof. Approx area is about 0.5 m x 0.5 m
