unusual hole in the floor

I need a tile replaced in the bathroom. The previous owner cut through the floor boards (size of a tile) so support will be needed under the tile. Tile is 34cm by 34cm. The hole is a shade smaller. Also the wooden back step has split in half so would need a replacement.
