Job description

Quantity Surveyor
Tauranga

Hi there, We are happy with 3 of our homes 4 boundaries and believe they are correct, but we think one is incorrect. This boundary runs from the street along our driveway (we have a long driveway as we are the rear property) to the back of the property. This should be in a straight line but there is a kink in it, (at its widest point kinked into our property, its approx .5m). This kink means that our boundary fence is not straight and we believe we have lost some land here. We are looking to fence this boundary, as there is currently a very old sub-standard fence along here, and we would like to re-align our driveway and run this up against the new fence. Ideally we would like a straight fence line, therefore a straight driveway. We have viewed our title and property file and this boundary line is straight. Also on google maps (not that this is always correct) this line is straight. Our property was a full site, then subdivided prior to our ownership (the front property was divided off). The property next door where we have the boundary issue was also a full site (the back property was subdivided off). If both sites side by side were originally full sections, it doesn't make sense for the boundary to have a kink in it. Can you please give me an idea on the cost to survey and rectify this issue (if the boundary is wrong)? We don't need the other boundaries surveyed, just this boundary. Looking forward to your reply Thanks,
