Boat survey for structure

So I can get my boat insured I need to have someone look at my new purchase. And supply a report. I have financed this boat so being charged over a thousand dollars to have this done which I've been quoted is bonkers being a single mum just wanting to enjoy her time with kids this is waaaaaaay to much. Please can someone help.
