Repair concrete beam and roof
Job description
The concrete roof over the garage previously was unsealed and water got through to the rebar. As the rebar rusted it pushed out the concrete. The beam across the roof has cracked and when you tap the roof with a hammer you can hear it has further cavities emerging. What can be done to remediate this? Install a steel I beam in place of existing beam? Sandblast/derust rebar and patch ceiling? Can a structural engineer advise work required (and paperwork and consents)? What kind of concrete specialist works on these kinds of projects? This is not a highly used area so its about structural soundness for the deck above.
