Surveyor required for new deck addition

I am looking at adding a new deck to the upper story of my house. My designer has recommend we ask a surveyor to define the front corner pegs of the side, and the locations of the front corners of the house, floor heights and drain pegs – all with ground heights. Also proposed deck corner readings, and corresponding HIRB readings on the boundaries.
