Job description
Chartered Engineer needed for assessment of foundations and of overall building structural integrity of a house that I am looking to purchase and renovate. 100 year old farm cottage on Banks Peninsula. Mainly wooden piles. The building has subsided over the years and sustained further damage in the earthquakes, mainly to the foundations. An insurance payout was taken and the building has remained uninhabited and unloved since. I would expect to pay for time, travel, verbal advice on site and a written report including approximate costings of the repairs required. Thereafter, plans and construction oversight would be required if purchase goes ahead.
