Stone retaining wall

I have dug out a space for a low curved retaining wall in an area which I eventually want to plant. The wall length is no more than 9 metres and I was thinking it to be no more than 500 mms high and about 350 mms wide. I have about 2 tons of stone lying near the site; most of it is andesite, which I purchased from Paeroa and which is generally flat on two sides, making it ideal for stacking. Fascinated with the beauty and practicality of dry stacked projects, I set out with this intention in mind. However, I possess no masonry skills and am, therefore seeking help.
