Job description

Retaining Walls & Fences
Torbay, North Shore

Published: 3 July 2024

I am looking for the installation of the first layer of a retaining wall so that I can finish the last 4 layers when I have time (and level the lawn etc). It should be around 29 blocks long or 13m (there is a plan view sketch). Based on the install guidance the trench to lay the base course (180mm of compacted metal and levelling sand) would be 305 deep and 600 wide. The 20/7 scoria behind this first course (and inside the blocks) needs to be compacted. The first course is to be installed level and to the Firth instructions. The gap down the side of the house is 1180mm which should fit a small digger if required. I will remove the middle fence post for access. There is also another driveway for access to the top of the wall. This job is mostly labour and supply of the scoria and drain pipe. I can supply the blocks and have them ready at the bottom of the wall. I will also take care of any rubbish. There is a corner at one end and curve to meet an existing timber wall. The curved end will need a bit of digging to get the base around to the existing other wall (see photo). I will remove the bricks and any concrete in the way before work starts. There may be extra work available after this for the wall about 4m further down or finishing this one if it takes me too long. Any questions please ask.
