Fireplace cover up / removal

Original open wood fire place, 1950's ex-state house, that needs to be covered up to baby proof house. Brick fire place with stone hearth and stone tile bordering with wood framing. Fire place is recessed into the wall and hearth appears to sit on top of wooden flooring. White jib walls surround fire place. Would also need to cap chimney. Open to suggestions on how best to cover-up the fire place.
