I have an existing set of concrete stairs that run from the road down to the house. Next to these stairs is a steel structure that was built to support a cable car, however the cable car is not operational. The house has two stories, and the existing stairs finish at the top level. The steel structure for the cable car runs between the existing stairs and the access to the house, and the crossing is not particularly safe as it is. I am looking for two quotes: 1) Improve the crossing. This would involve removing the steel structure where the crossing is (the rails can be easily cut or unbolted) and building a proper landing/crossing onto the upper deck, with a guard rail at the bottom. 2) Improve the crossing as above, and build a new set of stairs that continue from the crossing down to the lower story to improve access to the bottom flat. The new stairs would follow the existing steel structure and could re-use some of the steel work and footings. For reference, the total fall is approx. 3450mm from the landing to the lower deck. Would be open to wood, steel or a combination of materials. See attached photos for further details.
