Job description

Handrails
Wellington

I have an exterior staircase to the back door which is made of concrete. The wooden staircase railing is rotten and the steel concrete anchors have rusted. I need the staircase railing completely demolished and removed and the staircase railing completely rebuilt. I want like for like replacement please. I want the staircase railing to look exactly like the old one. It is a simple design. I would like smooth (not rough sawn) wood with a rating of no less than H3.2 used please. You don't have to paint the staircase railing, however, I do want the joins (where rot is likely to set in), to at least be primed or something similar. It looks like the original concrete anchors were galvanised steel as they have rusted. There will be some skill involved in putting in new concrete anchors without cracking the stair case. Not sure whether it is better to use mechanical concrete anchors or adhesive concrete anchors but up to you. It is okay to use galvanised concrete anchors but if you think stainless steel should be used am happy to discuss.

Tristan and his apprentice demolished and then rebuilt an external stair case handrail. The work was completed to a crafts man like standard. I do a lot of DIY myself so I know something about materials and building techniques. I was surprised on the upside about how good the work was.
