Staircase possible replacement

Hi, We have an existing set of carpeted stairs in our two story place. However we find each step dangerously narrow in terms of depth and want to see if there is a way to get deeper tread distance on the stairs, which would make it less steep and also easier to walk on with a full foot. Potentially it may require replacement staircase with different dimensions. Photo attached of current set up with steps down to a landing then a few more to the floor. Whether to do this we need to utilise winders instead of the landing to allow us deeper step tread, I’m not sure, but keen for advice and a quote on what is possible. Also we need to those get posts running alongside the stairs sorted, without such a big gap between. Something safer there needed. As you can see there is also no hand railing which we would also need to install with this job.
