Handrail for stairs

We are wanting a handrail installed for our stairs inside our house. The stairs are in two sections however we only need handrail for the longer section which has a length of roughly 3.5 meters and 0.8m wide. Ideally just wanting some quotes first as we have no idea the cost and what's required, and are unsure about any regulations that need to be met. Would like the job complete by Christmas too. Located in Foxton Beach
