Grid Tied inverter and solar connection.

I was wondering whether a solar electrician can hook up an inverter to the grid along with the approval of the export/import meter to a small 2kw solar system that is already installed DIY. (Have not done this yet, but looking for someone that can do this without hiring a solar supplier)
