Shade sail upgrade

Are there any completely waterproof shade sails? We have one over our rear deck, but we'd like it to be more permanently safe from the rain. There is also a large gap between the soffit and the shade sail, and was hoping this could be removed completely. Is there any way of bridging that gap? We just want to know what is possible and if no meaningful solution is available, we might look at getting an Archgola type awning.
