REROOFING Estimate 1) - Pre-painted steel eg COLORSTEEL(R) Size is approx 170sqm Info from Builders report: The roof is clad in a mixture of old and newer Galvanised-Steel (Corrugatediron). Areas of the older roofing have had newer roofing slipped under the bottom of the rusty section. See Photos Having this undertaken is an acceptable repair however it does indicate that the roofing is old and nearing the end of its life. It is not uncommon for the bottom of the roofing to rust prematurely. Having new roofing ?slipped? under will extend the serviceable life of the roofing. Rust was also noted at the bottom of the sheets of roofing where the roofing overhangs the spouting. It is not uncommon for the bottom of the roofing to suffer from rust prematurely due to the fact that it is exposed to the elements from both sides. As the rust is over the spouting only it does not pose a weathertightness issue to the interior however it indicates that the life of the roofing is limited. This area could also be cut back and have new roofing slipped under to extend its serviceable life.
