water down chimney flue #2

Gradual drip water coming down side of chimney flue of woodburner inside house. I think if we go over the existing flashing with goop and double up and clean spouting problem might go away. I have a ladder and you'll want a safety harness but I am not paying for scaffolding. I have photos if you email me.
