Roof repair - long run

Roof ends rusted out . We have a 1960s long run roof in the coastal area of north shore . The ends of the roof have rusted out and require slip sheets or replacement. Realistically the roof needs replacement in the next 4-8 years - as does the whole house . However we are wanting to do short term repairs whilst we make a final decision on the future of the property. The badly rusted ends are on able to be reached from the ground. Depending upon your recommendations we may also recoat the roof to provide additional life. We would like to get this repair under way as asap but are open to your timeframe
