Patch up roof where chimney previously was

About a year ago, I removed our fireplace and with it the chimney. I put the top section of the chimney (I guess the bit that stops rain coming down) into the hole and made it a little more water tight. It still appears to be water tight, but it’s very much a temporary fix. We are now looking to list our property and need it patched up properly, ideally in the next couple of weeks.
