My roof needs fixing

My roof is over 50 years old. It has leaks throughout. I've had one builder give two options. Replace the roof entirely or spray sealant and repaint the roof which is a temporary method for 5 to 6 years. I was quoted $5K to do the temporary method. I'm looking for a quote to replace the roof entirely or a comparison quote for the temporary method.
