Cupboard renovation

We are having our hot water cylinder removed and are wanting to see if the cupboard area could be knocked into to give us some additional space in kitchen. Also wanting some sliding doors removed and surrounds that are on wall, ceiling and floor removed and area prepared for painting. Seeking advice on what our options are asap so we can finalise kitchen refit plans. Water cylinder will be removed within 8 weeks (awaiting date) so timings for work would depend on whether work would need to wait until cylinder removed or could progress prior to its removal
