Shower after stroke

Had a stroke in February . Been home since June but cannot shower because bath too high to climb over. Occupational therapist wants me to create a wet room but too expensive . I would like to explore possibility of creating a cut thru the bath side to use the existing shower . Bath is 25 inches above floor but the base of bath is about 11 inches above floor level . Looks like bath fitted with plumbing just resting on floor when house built hence height level Looking at step thru conversion kits initially plus changing tapware etc plus a small amount of gib stopping Time frame immediate
