Renovation - kitchen/dining/living/laundry
Job description
I need to renovate my kitchen/dining/living space as follows: remove partial wall from between kitchen and living space. Relocate external entrance, resize two external windows, install skylight and replace existing ranch slider. Reconfigure kitchen layout and small laundry. Install wood burner. Reline walls and ceiling. Install insulation in external walls. Rewiring and plumbing. This website won't let me load CONCEPT drawings so please advise email address if you're interested and I'll send them to you. I require an estimate before drawing up specs for submission to the council.

APPALLING - After accepting the contract Laz conducted preliminary visits to my property and happily answered my queries. However, a week before the job was due to start he stopped all communication. I left numerous messages (received no response) and I had my son leave a message from his mobile. Laz did return my son's call (left no message, probably when he realised who it was) which suggests he was actively avoiding my calls. He did not turn up to do the job and I fired him via email.

"Unfortunate - I had a family member pass away overseas and had to drop everything. Not sure what she means by message left by her son - I never returned any calls as I wasn't in the country. Left me no chance to even explain the situation as she hastily 'fired' me - we never had a signed contract in any case. Hopefully the reno went well in the end and she was happy with another builder :)"
