Removal of partition wall

We are wanting to partially remove a wall that is like a partition wall only one post that goes to the ceiling. End that we want removed it the end will post, as this would open our kitchen to lounge up. We are wanting advice if this is a structural post and can be removed and the cost to complete this job. It would approx be 1sqm of the wall. Please note this is a Lockwood home so no plastering is required.
