Job description
Total kitchen, bathroom and laundry renovation for a rural property. Highly likely to involve removal of or adapting of a couple of internal walls and changing current windows. We are looking for a full project so would also need a plumber and probably also an electrician. Looking at buying kitchen sets from Bunnings or Mitre10 etc. I can provide free labour as is helpful to the builder/project. We will also be looking at buying appliances to fit design from Noel Leeming, Harvey Norman etc. Quite a significant budget is set aside.

I have adjusted this review to match a shocking turn of events in which extra invoices are being sent through months after the job was completed and they are not minor invoices. The cost is now FAR above the base quote and this was something that was talked through by me in some detail. It was agreed that cost review would be weekly. This never came so I thought we were on track for budget. I had to resolve one very large attempt to make me over pay half way through and now more.

"The client was sent a building contract on the 17th January, which advised that a margin would be added to any subcontractor involvement. He thought we would just organise all the contractors for no additional charge, which is totally unreasonable. Client new to building, so we should have communicated better with him. Got a bathroom, laundry and toilet renovation done for $47k so we disagree with score of 1."
