Bathroom renovation
Job description
Looking for quotes for the first phase of a two phase bathroom renovation of a student flat in the NEV. The first phase is to replace the existing bath with a shower enclosure as follows: i. remove existing bath ii. install shower enclosure (to be supplied by client) iii. install extractor fan (to be supplied by client) iv. make good and paint wall panels where the bath has been removed v. replace flooring (vinyl or laminate to be supplied by client) Contractor to provide all other plumbing fixtures, fittings and materials and to remove and dispose of all building waste (including the old bath). Since no additional sanitary fixtures are being added, my understanding is building consent is not required. As there will be 1-2 tenants staying on over summer, to minimise disruption the work would ideally be completed between Monday 15th January and Saturday 3rd February 2023 (preferable within a week). While I have advised the tenants that they may need to seek alternative accommodation while the renovations are being completed, their preference is to remain if they can continue to use the existing shower before 8am and after 5pm while the work is being done (there is separate outside toilet). Attached is a photo and plan of the bathroom. Please note the latter envisages further work being undertaken to install a laundry in the bathroom and to convert the existing shower into a separate toilet, of which replacing the current bath with a shower is the first phase.

Matt was a really good to deal with from start to finish, with advice on the design, sourcing materials and co-ordinating subbies. His right hand man, James, did a great job and the new bathroom and toilet look great. Nice guys and a fair price - I highly recommend Sutherland Built Construction.
